New Orleans Pelicans interim general manager Danny Ferry met with local reporters on Thursday, and he cleared up the situation on superstar big man Anthony Davis leaving the arena early last week against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ferry says the Pelicans’ medical staff told Davis to go get an MRI after checking his shoulder out. AD hurt his left shoulder in the first half against the Thunder and was seen leaving the arena with agent Rich Paul.

Head coach Alvin Gentry didn't know Davis left the stadium when he was speaking to reporters postgame, although he found out after he left the media when he saw a text message from Davis.

The Pelicans fired Dell Demps last week. The sight of seeing Anthony Davis leaving the arena injured reportedly made owner Gayle Benson extremely frustrated.

Davis' shoulder is feeling better. He played in the 2019 All-Star game and will play on Friday versus the Indiana Pacers. The All-Star will not play his usual minutes, though.

It's a shame the NBA just won't let the Pelicans shut Davis down for the rest of the season. There is no point for The Brow to play for the franchise anymore. He's going to be moved in the offseason. If AD gets hurt again, all hell is going to break loose in The Big Easy.
