The New Orleans Pelicans have an exciting season ahead of them as the Zion Williamson era begins in earnest. They are moving forward as an organization by enlisting the help of former NBA guard Ramon Sessions, who will join their basketball operations team.

Andrew Lopez confirmed the acquisition with his tweet:

Longtime NBA fans will know the journeyman for his stints with various teams. He started his career well with the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 2008-09. After that year, he bounced around from team to team. He finished his career with the Washington Wizards in 2017-18, where he averaged 5.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 15 minutes of play.

His arrival to the Pelicans couldn't come at a better time. The entire city is buzzing with Zion Williamson's arrival, so much so that 10,000 fans showed up for the new-look Pelicans' first open scrimmage.

Williamson couldn't help but feel the love from the city's passionate hoops fans:

“I feel like I've had a lot of new experiences that have been great, but to actually walk onto the court that we'll be playing on a lot, it was great,” Williamson said, per ESPN's Andrew Lopez. “I think we'll have a lot of great memories here.”

Fans are also excited to see the connection building up between their star rookie and Lonzo Ball. The eldest Ball brother is playing great basketball with Williamson, adjusting his game to suit his needs.

Nike is also looking to help the team as well. The shoe giant is all-in on their prized rookie, doling in cash the Pelicans' way to remove the small-market stigma surrounding the team.

This is an exciting time to be a Pelicans fan, and Ramon Sessions arrived right on time.
