It took four games, but New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson is starting to feel comfortable in the starting lineup.

The Pelicans are 2-2 with Williamson in the lineup:

Williamson is averaging 18.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.0 minutes per game. The high-flyer is shooting 63.3 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc and 35.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans are 19-29 on the season. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. If New Orleans wants to make the playoffs, they need to start stringing together some wins as soon as possible since the West is so rugged from top to bottom. The good news is the schedule gets easier for the rest of the season.

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry says the franchise is doing the right thing by limiting Williamson's minutes. Expect New Orleans to be cautious with Williamson for the foreseeable future since he's the new franchise player in The Big Easy and the organization doesn't want to jeopardize his long-term health.

Williamson signed a record rookie sneaker deal worth $75 million over five years with Jordan Brand. It’s sort of fitting that Williamson is with Jordan Brand. Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest dunker of all time. Watching Williamson dunk with the Pelicans this season while wearing Jordan Brand shoes just seems right.
