New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson made history on Tuesday after being selected to the NBA's All-Rookie First Team.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Williamson played the fewest amount of games (24) in NBA history to make the All-Rookie team. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid played the second-lowest with 31 games in 2017, and Ricky Rubio played the third-lowest with 41 games in 2012.

During preseason, Zion Williamson sustained a right knee injury which forced him to miss the first 44 games of the season. However, after coming back from his knee injury, the former Duke forward quickly established himself as a star in the making.

In 24 games for the Pelicans, he averaged 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range. Williamson also scored 20 or more points in 16 of his first 20 games, becoming the first player since Michael Jordan to accomplish that feat.

Although the Pelicans missed the playoffs following a poor performance in the NBA restart, their future is extremely bright with Williamson leading the way.

In just his first season with the franchise, Williamson — who was the No. 1 selection in the 2019 NBA Draft — has already solidified himself as a star within the Pelicans organization.

With his selection to the NBA's All-Rookie first team, he became the fifth player in franchise history to earn that nod. Furthermore, he is the fourth player to be named to the First Team, joining Chris Paul, Darren Collison, Marcus Thornton and Anthony Davis.

Nevertheless, New Orleans will be seeking to keep rebuilding this offseason, in order to become title contenders in the upcoming years.
