Projected No. 1 pick Zion Williamson will visit the New Orleans Pelicans this week, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

The Pelicans met with Williamson in Chicago last month and had rave reviews:

The Duke product has long been considered the top prospect in the 2019 NBA Draft. Williamson enjoyed a dominant season with the Blue Devils, averaging 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks in exactly 30 minutes per game. He shot 68% from the field and a respectable 33.8% on 3-pointers.

Williamson's college stats were impressive enough, but he also wowed fans on a nightly basis with highlight-reel plays and jaw-dropping feats of athleticism. He helped make Duke must-watch television every single time they played.

The Pelicans entered the lottery with only a 6% chance of winning the No. 1 pick, but they bucked the odds to get this opportunity to draft Zion. While New Orleans is still preparing to trade Anthony Davis, the franchise can quickly recover with Williamson, Jrue Holiday and the haul from the Davis trade.

There's no reason to think the Pelicans will take anybody other than Zion Williamson at this point. Even if this visit to New Orleans doesn't go perfectly, there's basically nothing that can happen that will stop this from happening.
