Few players have had a bigger impact on their new team this season than New Orleans Pelicans rising star Brandon Ingram. The 22-year-old joined the Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, and while there's no denying that AD was the peach in that particular deal, what New Orleans got in return is probably more than what they bargained for.

As such, Ingram has become one of the most highly touted young stars in the league today. This is perfect timing given he's set to become a restricted free agent this offseason For their part, the Pelicans do not seem to be messing around with their star swingman, and they are reportedly willing to match any offer sheet Ingram may get from any other team in the NBA, per Chris Fedor of cleveland.com.

While Ingram is eligible to go sign an offer sheet with another team, there's also a chance the Pelicans simply come out and offer him a max contract right away so they can immediately lock up their new star. New Orleans can offer him a five-year deal, though just how much that offer could be will be based on likely salary cap adjustments after the coronavirus hiatus.

On the season, Ingram has averaged 24.3 points (on 46.6 percent shooting), 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while also connecting on 2.4 triples per contest. This huge leap in his production resulted in a first-time selection to the All-Star squad for the 6-foot-7 forward.
