New Orleans Pelicans fans booed superstar big man Anthony Davis when he was introduced in the starting lineup on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It was the first game Davis played for the Pelicans since he requested a trade.

This was to be expected. Even though Anthony Davis has given it his all as a member of the Pelicans, anytime a player requests a trade and makes it known he doesn't want to play for the franchise, the fans are always going to boo.

When Jimmy Butler requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves at the beginning of the season, he got booed by Minnesota fans at home as well.

The NBA is essentially making the Pelicans play Anthony Davis for the rest of the season even though the franchise is going to trade AD in the summer. The league would have fined New Orleans $100,000 per game if they didn't play a healthy Davis.

The Brow was recently cleared by team doctors to play. The former No. 1 overall pick suffered a left index finger injury which forced him to miss nine consecutive games.

Davis entered Friday averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from beyond the arc.
