D.J. Augustin of the Orlando Magic had no chance against New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis.

In their game on Tuesday, Davis — who's second in the league in blocked shots per game (2.56) — swatted Augustin's lay-up into the stands.

Augustin had intentions of kissing it high off the backboard. But even before it reached the glass, Davis was already up in the air, arms extended, and ready to swat the ball.

The clip above is good proof why a ton of teams entertained the thought of having Davis in their team ever since he requested a trade earlier this month.

Apart from being a six-time All-Star, Davis has also been selected into the  All-NBA First Team three times, NBA All-Defensive First Team once, and NBA All-Defensive Second Team twice.

He's also led the league in blocked shots for three seasons.

Davis may already be counting his final days donning the Pelicans uniform. After all, the team is obliged to honor his trade request.

Nothing materialized in the trade deadline which means that they have to wait until the summer to entertain possible trade options.

Hopefully, they can find a group of players who can match Davis' skill and athleticism.
