No matter how big of a Titanic fan you think you are, you don’t know jackcrap until you hear New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins break down the epic disaster flick like an English literature professor analyzing a Robert Frost poem in front of a class.

The movie has been discussed countless times since it hit the theaters way back in 1997, but this is very much likely the first time the leading protagonist of the film, Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, was called a “player.” Not even the late, great Roger Ebert or any other armchair film critic had that label attached to Jack before.

DeMarcus Cousins also raised another interesting issue about the movie: the fact that Rose, played by Kate Winslet, didn’t bother to test whether the door she was floating on after the supposedly unsinkable Titanic sank could be able to support her and Jack at the same time. Rose, of course, just let Jack freeze to death because, as what the Pelicans star implied, her heart can be as cold as the waters of the Atlantic Ocean when her chances of survival were put in compromise.

Hopefully for Cousins and the Pelicans, they won’t hit an iceberg this season, as they try to make the playoffs and make a deep run in the postseason.
