New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis honored his injured teammate in the first half of Sunday’s All-Star Game by wearing the jersey of DeMarcus Cousins instead of his. After suffering a ruptured Achilles last month, the 27-year-old Alabama native was forced to remain on the sidelines and have Russell Westbrook replace him in Team LeBron’s starting unit.

Understanding what Davis is capable of having scored the most points in ASG history, Cousins jokingly told him inside their locker room that if he scores 50 points and wins the MVP, that it will be his award.

Just last season, The Brow broke the all-time ASG scoring record by recording 52 points, leading the Western Conference to their win in the 2017 edition of the exhibition game. There was truly no defense played throughout the game, making it possible for him to score at will on easy dunks and layups. That resulted in the NBA changing the format this year, with LeBron James and Stephen Curry being named captains and drafting their teammates.

The hilarious conversation of the two only goes to show how good the relationship between the two big men is.

Despite DeMarcus Cousins being known as a player with a short temper on the court, he respects  Anthony Davis and they have co-existed well for the Pelicans since playing together. If they remain on the same team next season and make the All-Star team as teammates, it will be a very proud moment for New Orleans, as well as for both big men out of Kentucky.
