It's been a tough past several weeks for PGA Tour star and world no. 22 Bryson DeChambeau. DeChambeau has dealt with injuries to his left hand- which he seems to have suffered while playing ping-pong– and hip, which have limited him to five starts on the Tour this year. The 2020 U.S. Open champion was a late scratch at the PGA Championship this past week, saying he would try to give it a go at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the event immediately following Southern Hills. Alas, DeChambeau was forced to make a tough choice, as reported by the Golf Channel.

As expected, Bryson DeChambeau withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge on Tuesday as he continues to recover from hand surgery.

DeChambeau was forced to withdraw from the Charles Schwab Challenge, making it the second straight absence following his failure to play in the PGA Championship. It's been a rough Tour season for the 28-year-old, who missed the cut in three consecutive tournaments, including the Masters.

The PGA Tour star said that he doesn't have “the endurance for four days” yet but he believes that he'll have “full strength” for the Memorial tournament, which is the next event on the schedule after the Charles Schwab Challenge.

PGA fans will hope that DeChambeau can get healthy in time for the Memorial, which will be his first tune-up ahead of the 2022 U.S. Open in June.
