The Philadelphia Phillies are currently across the pond ahead of their two-game London Series against the New York Mets, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the London Stadium, the home of West Ham United.

Ahead of the series opener, Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos joined the MLB Network crew to speak about what he's seen in the UK since landing and he hilariously went viral after referring to the private school kids' uniforms as “Hogwart uniforms”.

Priceless. Via Absolutely Hammered on X:

“We walked around for like five hours or so, just saw like all the local markets they have. I like to see how normal people live on the daily. That stuff is fun for me – to be able to go through their markets and the way they get food. I got to see kids comes out all dressed in their Hogwarts uniforms,” Castellanos said. “Hey, private school kids wear jackets and ties here. Now, I pay $30,000 a year for a private school and all we get is an untucked collared shirt and khaki pants.”

People were loving the Harry Potter reference from the Phillies star:

Rather hilarious how Castellanos discussed how his kids barely get a proper outfit for private school in the US where he pays $30,000.

Phillies thriving in 2024 season

Philadelphia has been a legitimate contender in the postseason across the last couple of years, but they haven't always played great in the regular season. That being said, in 2024, Rob Thomson's squad is absolutely flourishing.

The Phillies are in first place in the National League East with a 44-19 record, sitting 7.5 games above the injury-riddled Atlanta Braves. They're one of the best teams in the big leagues on both sides of the ball, ranking first in runs scored with 5.1 per contest and top five in numerous other offensive categories. Philly is also second in team ERA at 2.92. They can do no wrong right now.

As for Castellanos, he's having a bit of a down year so far, hitting just .214 with eight home runs and 28 RBI. Regardless, the veteran is a key piece of this lineup and he's proven just that over the last few seasons.

This weekend's series in London is the conclusion of the MLB World Tour. The Dominican Republic Series was in spring training between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays before the Seoul Series, which saw the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres clash in the first games of the season. At the end of April, the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros played a pair of contests in Mexico City, too.

The Phillies have won three in a row heading into Saturday's matchup, having just swept the Milwaukee Brewers. The Mets meanwhile are a dumpster fire with a 27-35 record but have actually grabbed three consecutive victories as well.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM ET. There's usually an impressive turnout when Major League Baseball heads to the UK and it should be no different this time.

The game is growing worldwide every year.
