Feuds are heating up all around the NBA and one of the most intriguing is between DetroitPistons center Andre Drummond and Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid. The Eastern Conference big men have a history of needling one another and in their most recent clash, Embiid got the better of Drummond — sort of.
Embiid flopped when Drummond's hand touched Embiid's face and the Pistons big was ejected. But Blake Griffin picked up his teammate and finished the Sixers off in overtime, sending the Sixers out of Detroit empty-handed. Not to mention, Drummond is more focused on the win than he is on his ejection. He told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
“It was a mistake obviously. It shows what kind of player he is. We won the game. That's all that matters.”
Joel Embiid had his moment and he made sure to get all of his trolling in after Andre Drummond was ejected. But Drummond wants to let the world know that he has no personal issues with Embiid. He told Vince Ellis:
“It's not about bragging rights, I just want to win the game. I have no personal vendetta with (Embiid). He makes it a thing to say something about me so obviously it must be on his mind. I'm just there to win the game.”
Embiid is a master troll. Sometimes the best — and only — way to get back at him is by beating him. He can't talk too much trash when his team is on the losing end of the ledger.
