Cade Cunningham is the consensus No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and if the Detroit Pistons do select him, he promises they won't regret it.

Speaking to reporters ahead of next week's rookie selection, Cunningham expressed his desire to be the No. 1 pick and shared what he would bring to Detroit.

“If I am able to go there and be the No. 1 pick, I'll carry that same (Detroit) swag when I go out on the court,” the 19-year-old point guard said, per Rod Beard of The Detroit News.

That is certainly what Pistons want to hear from potentially their playmaker of the future. It also looks like Cunningham is integrating himself to the Detroit culture as early as now, sharing that he's been listening to Detroit music for some time already.

“I love Detroit. I've already been listening to Detroit music — way before the lottery … it's a city that has a lot going on and getting the sports team rolling will be huge for the city.” Cunningham added.

Cade Cunningham has not spoken or met with any other team aside from the Pistons, as he highlighted his belief that he is the best player in his class. However, it remains to be seen if the Pistons will end up drafting him since the Houston Rockets have interest in trading for the No. 1 pick.

According to reports, the Pistons and Rockets will have a conversation soon about a possible deal for the top selection. Nonetheless, it is more likely he'd end up with the Pistons.

Hopefully, fans get to see that Detroit swag really soon.
