Detroit Pistons hotshot rookie Cade Cunningham is off to a rough start as he puts up horrific shooting numbers in his first three games. After sitting out the first few games of the season due to an ankle injury, Cunningham was finally able to suit up for the franchise for the first time last week and, after three games, it seems as though the 20-year old is still adjusting to the league as he struggles to find his shot.

In his three games, Cunningham has shot just 7-for-39 from the field which puts him at just 17.9%. That now puts him in literal last place in the history of the league since the ABA-NBA merger for worst FG% in his first three games in the league with a minimum of 30 field-goal attempts (via Justin Kubatko of Basketball Reference).

Ouch.

Clearly, this isn't an ideal start for the Oklahoma State star. This year's first overall pick didn't shoot this poorly in his lone year for the Cowboys where he put up solid numbers from the field, shooting at 43.8% per game in 27 total games. After much anticipation, Cunningham's start to his Pistons career has been rather underwhelming with him scoring just two points and six points in his first two games, respectively.

On Thursday night, the Pistons hosted the Philadelphia 76ers and Cunningham was hoping to bounce back. Although he managed to notch his first double-digit point total with 18, he still shot rather poorly from the field and was just 4-of-17 against the Sixers as the Pistons dropped their fourth-straight loss this season.

Fortunately, though, Cunningham made his mark and made franchise history in recording his first career double-double with ten boards to be just the third Piston to ever do it at this point in their career.
