Detroit Pistons veteran point guard Derrick Rose has recently spoken out about how the late Kobe Bryant has influenced his own career. According to Rose, Bryant has been one of the biggest reasons as to why Rose stands where he does right now.

The Pistons guard is not exactly the most vocal individual in the league, which gives his message above even more significance. It was a simple and straightforward statement, but one that shows just how much Kobe means to Rose. For one to say that he has modeled his entire career in the image of another is perhaps one of the biggest compliments anyone can ever give.
Rose entered the league in 2008, which was the Kobe Bryant era. This was when Bryant carried the L.A. to back-to-back titles, which explains why the Lakers legend has a very significant influence over Rose. Moreover, he grew up watching Kobe dominate in the league, and as he states, he patterned how he views the game from his boyhood idol.

Rose is the owner of one of the most inspiring narratives in the league. Not only does he hold the record as the youngest ever MVP winner at the age of just 22, but his success story on battling back from some career-threatening injuries is second to none. Rose's mental toughness and fortitude is the stuff of legends, so for him to say that he simply aims to emulate Kobe in this respect speaks volumes on the type of person Bryant was and the eternal influence he has had on so many others.
