The Detroit Pistons are in the midst of a coaching search, one that has featured more than a handful of names despite recent jobs like the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, and Orlando Magic already being filled. On Thursday afternoon, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi reported that the Pistons are interviewing Dwane Casey for their open head coaching slot.

Casey is coming off a season where he led the Toronto Raptors to a franchise record 59 wins, but also got stunningly swept by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. What made it even worse is that the other two Eastern Conference teams that faced the Cavs in the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtic both took Cleveland to seven games and made a ton of adjustments on the fly. Although there were a few close games, the Raptors never looked like they knew they could win the series.

Casey was let go earlier this month, and is not expected to have a hard time finding a new job as a coach elsewhere in the league.

The Pistons let head coach Stan Van Gundy go earlier this summer and have been interviewing a number of coaches for their open spot. Just yesterday, Detroit reportedly met with former Rockets guard and current TNT analyst Kenny Smith.

The Pistons have time to figure out who they want to hire, but they'll likely want to do that before the NBA Draft so the coach can have input on any potential moves they could swing.
