The Detroit Pistons had zero rights to feel high and mighty Friday, as they were beaten black and blue by the Philadelphia 76ers on the road, 114-78. The Pistons were thoroughly crushed by the Sixers so bad that Andre Drummond had a moment where seemed to have lost a grip on reality.

The game was over as early as the third quarter when the Sixers erected a 40-point lead. If there ever was a mercy rule in basketball, it would have been likely used in this game. The Pistons simply did not have their A-game, while the Sixers played no-letup basketball, mercilessly pummelling Detroit as though Drummond and company killed Rocky or stole the Liberty Bell.

Despite the blowout nature of the contest, Drummond still found time to tease the crowd. After going 2-for-2 at the free throw line that cut the lead down to 30 points in the third quarter, Drummond held his fingers against his mouth and gestured for Philly fans to hush.

While Andre Drummond was free to do that, his action just made him an even bigger target for 76ers fans. It also made him look like a tone-deaf player, who had no awareness of the situation.

Drummond finished with a pathetic output, by his standards, of 10 points to go with just five rebounds. Worse, he was outplayed once again by Sixers center Joel Embiid, who had already outperformed Drummond in a previous meeting. Embiid racked 23 points and nine rebounds.

Andre Drummond and the Pistons need to have a short memory and just forget the beatdown they got at the hands of Philadelphia. They will travel back home Saturday for their next game, a matchup against the Houston Rockets.
