As trainers look to fill up their Pokédex in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, one particular location stands out for capturing some powerful Pokémon—the Grand Underground. We may not have gotten the Platinum Dex, but the expanded National Dex and the whole variety of ‘mons that you can encounter in the Grand Underground make the Sinnoh remakes quite worthwhile if you're the completionist type of player. Here's every Pokémon you can find in the Grand Underground, before and after getting the National Pokédex in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Players can access the Grand Underground as early as reaching Eterna City in the Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. As you progress through the story, you will be able to unlock more and more Pokémon in this location. Uniquely, the underground caverns aren't just your typical cave area. Instead, they contain so-called Hideaways, rooms that resemble terrariums or mini-biomes, each with different characteristics like a lava-filled location or a grassy patch within the cavern.

Some of the Grand Underground Pokémon are only exclusive to either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, so we've noted those version exclusives down as well. Moreover, an even wider range of Pokémon become available once you complete the Sinnoh Pokédex and upgrade it to the National Pokédex. You have to beat the main game, then encounter all 150 Pokémon for the Sinnoh Dex, then head over to Professor Rowan in the post-game to get the expanded National Dex.
