Lionel Messi rocked the football world on Thursday after it was revealed that the Barcelona legend has decided to part ways with the Catalan giants. After contract talks took a turn for the worse, it has now been confirmed that after 17 years with his boyhood club, Messi will now be playing his football elsewhere starting next season.

The big question now is, where will Messi go? As it appears, PSG is wasting no time in trying to pounce on this development as they have now reportedly entered negotiations with the Argentine to take his talents to Paris (h/t B/R Football on Twitter):

This actually doesn't come as a huge surprise. There are few teams in the world that can afford Messi and his gargantuan contract — whatever that may end up being — and PSG is one of them. A handful of clubs from the Premier League are also likely taking their shot at the 34-year-old, but as it is, PSG appears to be in pole position in the race to sign arguably the greatest football player of all time.

Messi has played for Barca all his life and it remains to be seen how this change in scenery is going to affect his already legendary career. Then again, he is the GOAT after all, so he's likely going to thrive wherever he decides to go.

A move to Paris will reunite Lionel Messi with pal and former Barcelona strike partner Neymar. As for PSG, their hopes of finally bagging that elusive Champions League title is going to take a huge leap if and when this Messi deal is confirmed.
