The Oakland Raiders are in the midst of missing the playoffs after ending their postseason drought last year. Although Oakland's playoff hopes are technically still alive as they're in the hunt, Derek Carr and company will likely be watching the playoffs from home with a lot of uncertainty surrounding the immediate future for head coach Jack Del Rio.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Del Rio's chances of remaining the coach in Oakland is 50-50.

Yes, we have fun from time to time with reports that amount to something potentially happening, “unless it doesn’t.” But, sometimes, something actually does represent an actual 50-50 proposition.

And that’s precisely what’s going on with Raiders coach Jack Del Rio. Per a league source, it’s currently a coin flip for Del Rio.

Last year, Del Rio signed a contract extension with the team securing what was thought to be a long-term future for the 53-year-old. Now the Raiders brass may be considering other options with the team failing to meet expectations in a season many thought might have had the potential for a Super Bowl run for the silver and black.

Although Del Rio's status is up in the air, it appears offensive coordinator Todd Downing is on his way, according to Florio.

Regardless of what happens with Del Rio, it’s believed to be a near certainty that offensive coordinator Todd Downing will be gone.

In the final two games of the regular season, the Raiders will go head-to-head against the Philadelphia Eagles and division rival Los Angeles Chargers. The outcomes of these games could determine whether Del Rio is ultimately retained.
