It has been a rocky return to football for Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden. Fortunately, the relocation to Allegiant Stadium this offseason has seemingly ushered in a newfound sense of optimism going into the 2020 NFL season.

The Raiders will now be calling Sin City their new home and are hoping to kick things off in style. According to an interview with JT The Brick (h/t Austin Boyd of Heavy), Gruden is admittedly looking forward to ringing in a new era for the team:

“I just can’t tell you how excited I am,” Gruden said when asked about Allegiant Stadium. “So eager to get to Las Vegas and just compete with the Raider brand, with Las Vegas joining forces. It’s gonna be so awesome.”

Gruden's excitement is certainly understandable considering he is at the head of the team's relocation. He seems to understand full well how important it is for the Raiders to make a good impression on their new home.

Gruden had made some significant changes to the roster upon his arrival with the hope of building a team that could compete for the long haul. Although he has endured his fair share of criticism up to this point, the time has come for his plans to come to fruition with the team now in Las Vegas.

The Raiders have spared no expense to make their presence felt on the strip with their new stadium. More importantly, the notable additions to their roster have brought a newfound sense of optimism for fans ready to watch their team compete in the AFC West. While Gruden certainly has the charisma to lead a new chapter in the franchise, it will be interesting to see if he is now able to put it all together.
