The Oakland Raiders have gotten off to a rough start to the 2018 NFL season. Head coach Jon Gruden has an idea of what it would take for his team to improve.

Running back Marshawn Lynch and linebacker Bruce Irvin have taken on integral roles on both sides of the ball. According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Gruden plans on poaching more players from the Seattle Seahawks:

Jon Gruden raving about Marshawn Lynch and Bruce Irvin on conference call with Seattle media: “Wish we had more ex-Seahawks on our team. We'll try to get more of them.”

Gruden's comments may seem a bit comical considering what has occurred in Seattle in recent years. However, there is no denying that the former Seahawks are making huge contributions in Oakland.

Lynch's role should come as no surprise. He came out of retirement to help his native Oakland potentially win a Super Bowl before the team relocates to Las Vegas. Despite his struggles early on, he has made quite an impression on his new coach.

Meanwhile, Irvin came over from the Seahawks last season and almost immediately became the Raiders undisputed leader on defense. This young group was sorely lacking leadership upon his arrival. However, he quickly filled the void and was able to help stabilize this unit still looking to improve.

Of course, it is not unusual for teams to monitor the moves made by a specific team. The New England Patriots have poached a number of players from the Cleveland Browns this year. It appears Jon Gruden has become fixated on the next talented player Seattle releases.
