It's the Oakland Raiders' final season in the Bay, and the team is making moves to secure its structure before completing the jump to the bright lights of Las Vegas. One of those moves was inking Rodney Hudson to a three-year extension earlier this week.

The lineman has been with the Raiders for four years and will be the core of the offensive line by the time they complete the move to Sin City. Raiders GM Mike Mayock wanted the former Florida State stalwart to be on the team when they made the transition.

When ESPN's Paul Gutierrez asked for the reason behind the extension, Mayock gave him sound logic.

Hudson is a reliable player that the Raiders can count on for the first years in their new home.

Moreover, he is the epitome of good health, too. Hudson has only missed three games in the four seasons he has spent with the team. He started in every game he was in, always meeting the expectations of the team.

The Raiders' move to Nevada will be the third time the franchise will be uprooting itself for greener pastures. They have been Oakland's football team since 1960, but spent twelve years as Los Angeles' team from 1982 to 1994.

This is not going to be an easy divorce from the team and the place they've called home for the longest time. However, Raiders fans across the globe are excited to see a solid man in Hudson holding down the O-line for their team.
