Even though he's now a Jet, there's still some “what if” surrounding Le'Veon Bell. The Oakland Raiders — who recently snagged Antonio Brown — wanted him, too.

At least that's the word according to NBC Sports, who suggest that the West Coast team believed they had a “real shot” at snagging Bell before the Jets swooped in and got him.

From NBC Sports:

“There was some real buzz in the building around noon on Tuesday. The Jets had given Bell a deadline, and there was a sense that if money wasn’t the most important thing Bell would rather play for the Raiders than the Jets.”

It's all the better that Le'Veon Bell didn't get signed to the Raiders, though, because as we all know, Bell's former teammate Antonio Brown is also signed to the Raiders. We know that when the two of them got together while they were with the Steelers, they certainly brought their fair share of messiness.

Bell agreed to a four-year, $52.5 million deal with $35 million guaranteed and the possibility to go up as high as $61 million with incentives.

The Raiders still need a running back either in free agency or the draft. Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin, who combined for 1,099 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, both are free agents. However, Lynch has yet to declare his intentions as of this writing.

It will be interesting to see if Le'Veon Bell is able to perform his duties as a Jet, and how well he can pull it all off in New York.
