Veteran linebacker Von Miller came over to the Los Angeles Rams mid-season and made a huge difference defensively as they cruised to a Super Bowl title. Now, he is a free agent this summer and has already teased the idea of going back to his long-time team, the Denver Broncos.
However, as ESPN's Josina Anderson reports, Miller is pretty set on returning to the Rams in the offseason, unless something goes terribly wrong in their negotiations:
Von Miller to me on the phone while on vacation regarding his football future: "I want to figure it out with the Rams first & foremost because they've been real good to me. On the slim chance that can’t happen, then I’ll explore all my options."

Sorry, Broncos fans. It appears Von was simply trying to get you excited with his recent IG posts. But in all honesty, why wouldn't Miller return to LA? He formed a lethal partnership with Aaron Donald and was clearly loving his time with the Rams. Also, if he returns, that would likely play a factor in Donald suiting up for another season instead of potentially retiring.
For details on Aaron Rodgers' decision to stay with the Packers and the Seahawks trading Russell Wilson to Denver, listen below:
At this point, it feels like Miller was simply just toying with Broncos fans. He really made it seem like he wanted to be back in Denver, which he might. However, the Rams are the reigning Super Bowl champions and should be just as good in 2022. That being said, the Broncos aren't exactly pushovers anymore either after pulling off a blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson.
It will be interesting to see what Von Miller's decision is, but he's evidently leaning on the side of staying in sunny Southern California.
