The New York Rangers are right in contention to make a deep run through the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they fortified the roster at the NHL trade deadline with a couple of solid acquisitions. The Rangers first struck a deal with the Winnipeg Jets to acquire center Andrew Copp, per Darren Dreger. The team followed that move up by landing Tyler Motte from the Vancouver Canucks, getting both deals done just minutes before the deadline at 3:00 p.m. EST.
All indications are Andrew Copp is headed to NYR. Rangers may also be working on Tyler Motte.

The return the Jets are receiving in exchange for Copp has yet to be revealed, but it's been reported that the Rangers will be sending a 2023 fourth-round pick to Vancouver in exchange for Motte.
This season in Winnipeg, Copp has been an excellent contributor, providing 35 points across the team's first 56 games. He's scored 13 goals and assisted on 22, including a 3-point game in his final outing with the team. Copp had been with the Jets since they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, having played eight seasons in the pros for the team.
Motte is also a former fourth-round pick from the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, having been selected 121st overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. He has 15 points this season for the Canucks, scoring 7 points and adding 8 assists across 49 games.
The Rangers were clearly focused on improving their scoring output and offensive efficiency at the deadline, already boasting one of the most formidable defenses in the NHL. Landing the pair of centers should help create more scoring opportunities for the team as they look to position themselves for a playoff run.
