The Toronto Raptors are scheduled to face the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, but it sounds like they'll be without the services of Delon Wright, who is still dealing with groin issues.

According to a report from Eric Koreen of The Athletic, Wright participated in Monday's shootaround, but he will be held out against the Hornets.

Wright, now 26 years of age, hasn't been able to take the floor yet this season. His injury, which occurred on Oct. 10, kept him out of the Raptors' final preseason contest. Now, however, it seems he's on the path to recovery.

Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry have picked up most of the minutes at the point guard position in Wright's absence. VanVleet has made the most of his increased playing time. In fact, he's currently averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per outing.

Wright made 69 appearances with the Raptors during their 2017-18 regular-season campaign, racking up averages of 8.0 points on 46.5 percent shooting from the field (36.6 percent from beyond the arc), 2.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and a steal in 20.8 minutes per game.

Wright has played an important role for the Raptors for a while. He's proficient at the 1, but he's also a solid 2-guard. Barring any setbacks, he should be able to get back on the floor sooner rather than later.

Monday night's Raptors-Hornets game is set to tip inside Scotiabank Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET.
