DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors has been marred by inconsistency in the regular season. There are some nights he'll score a measly eight or 10 points. There are nights where he would explode for over 30. But come playoff time, he seems bent on leaving the inconsistent days behind.

In their Game 2 win against the Washington Wizards, DeRozan dropped 37 points, tying his playoff career-high:

To recall, DeRozan dropped 37 points in Game 3 of last year's Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite his efforts, they lost that game and eventually, the series.

In a high-scoring affair, the Raptors won 130-119, to take a 2-0 series lead. DeRozan was red hot from the field, shooting 60.9 percent and 50 percent from downtown.

DeRozan came off from a poor Game 1 performance. He scored just 17 points and shot just 35.3 percent from the field. Fortunately, his teammates carried the slack, enough for the Raptors to take the win.

Hopefully, his performance in Game 2 will mark the beginning of steady and consistent scoring outings for him. Though considered a superstar in the league, he has not yet found the formula to perform at a high-level night in and night out. There are times when he just disappears. And often, these are the times when the Raptors need him the most.

The Raptors are highly-touted to take the series over the Wizards. It's been a stellar season so far. Hopefully, they won't falter in the latter rounds of the playoffs. They've been a playoff contender for so long. Perhaps now is the time to fight for that ring.
