Fred VanVleet dropped a career-high 54 points in the Toronto Raptors 123-108 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The prolific guard not only bested himself, but he also broke several records along the way.

Per The Athletic's Shams Charania, VanVleet surpassed NBA legend Moses Malone for the most points by an undrafted player. VanVleet shot 17-of-23 from the field, including a whopping 11-of-14 from downtown, plus a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

VanVleet's 54-point explosion is also the new single-game record for the Raptors, beating the 52 points of DeMar DeRozan, who congratulated his former teammate.

VanVleet already had 46 points after the third quarter, which also set a new Raptors record.

By halftime, the former Wichita State already knocked down eight three-pointers, another Raptors record. He was one three-pointer shy of tying the total single-game record of 12 set by Donyell Marshall.

VanVleet, who wasn't selected by any team in the 2016 NBA Draft, also became the first undrafted player in NBA history to score 40 points with 10 three-pointers in a game.

Commenting on his big night, the 26-year-old floor general was simply relieved that his shots finally went in. He said never lost confidence in his stroke and on Tuesday, things just clicked (via ESPN).

“It's just time. I've been missing a lot of open ones this season, more than I usually do, but it was time. Sometimes you get in that groove and you find that zone, and tonight I was able to do that, and my teammates did an unbelievable job finding me, and screening for me and getting me the ball in my spots. A lot of them were just catch-and-shoots.”

From being an unknown player, Fred VanVleet has truly become one of the more reliable two-way guards in the NBA, landing him an $85 million extension in the offseason as an integral piece of the Raptors.
