Toronto Raptors fans are surely happy that Pascal Siakam has returned from his shoulder injury. In his limited time against the Brooklyn Nets, Siakam put on a solid performance of 15 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks. It's the stat-stuffing performance Raptors fans are used to seeing from Siakam.

But while fans might think that the return from injury will immediately result in more Raptors wins, it's not that easy. Take it from Fred VanVleet, who understands that there will be an adjustment period for the team. (via Sportsnet)

“Everybody else is kind of affected by him coming back… He’s going to play heavy minutes and have the ball and he’s going to be a big part of the offence. So, offensively, I think it’s just finding our rhythm and spacing and the flow and learning how to play with Pascal.”

Real life isn't like NBA 2K, where you can add players and immediately see success. There will be a feeling out period, especially for guys like Scottie Barnes and Precious Achiuwa, who are playing with Siakam for the first time in a while. For VanVleet, it wouldn't be a hard transition (the man REALLY missed his day one, after all) to life with Spicy P, but he recognizes that the new Raptors might have a harder time.

“For me it was great. I missed playing with him. The other guys who were playing with him for the first time, there will probably be a little bit of a learning curve.”

Watching this Raptors team grow together will be exciting for fans and terrifying for the league. For now, though, fans will have to get accustomed to some growing pains, but after that… hoo boy. It's going to be a fun time in the North.
