The Toronto Raptors could be without a key piece for their next game against the Brooklyn Nets. Per Doug Snith of the Toronto Star, Kyle Lowry is questionable to play Saturday against the Nets due to whiplash.

Lowry has been an essential piece to a Raptors squad that is hotter than any other team in basketball at the moment. Toronto has won 13 straight games which has boosted them to the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 38-14 record.

As for Lowry himself, the 33-year-old point guard suffered whiplash in the Raptors last game against the Toronto Raptors and did not return.

Lowry has already missed 11 games this season due to injury and is averaging 19.6 points, 7.4 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor and 34.9 percent on over eight three-point attempts per game.

Lowry's spectacular season has allowed the 14-year pro to make sixth-straight All-Star appearance — all of which came as a member of the Raptors.

With Lowry out, fans will miss out on seeing a Lowry-Kyrie Irving matchup and instead, Patrick McCaw, Terrence Davis and Fred VanVleet should see increased roles against Brooklyn.

Led by Lowry and fourth-year star Pascal Siakam, the defending-champion Raptors are doing better than most expected after the team lost superstar Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Clipper this past offseason.

After their Saturday matchup against the Nets, the Raptors will stay at home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves before traveling to Brooklyn to once again face off against Irving and the Nets.
