Though he missed Monday morning's practice session due to a sore back, Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry is going to suit up for Tuesday night's road game against the Sixers, according to a report from Sportsnet:
Lowry was held out of Sunday's game against the Clippers due to his sore back. All in all, the Philly native has missed 11 games since December due to the ailment:
The fact that Lowry is returning to the lineup is certainly good news for Raptors fans, as he's one of the team's primary options on the offensive end of the floor. In 42 appearances this season (all starts), the former Villanova Wildcat has racked up averages of 14.1 points on 40.9 percent shooting from the field (31.9 percent from beyond the arc), 9.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per outing.
With Lowry coming back, Fred VanVleet will be relegated back to a reserve role. VanVleet, who had nine points and seven assists in Sunday's victory over the Clippers, has played well in Lowry's absence.
Tuesday night's Raptors-Sixers game is scheduled to tip inside the Wells Fargo Center at 8:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage. Toronto is 8-4 without Lowry and 11-3 without Kawhi Leonard this season. Philadelphia is 21-5 at home.
