It has been confirmed that the Toronto Raptors will be without Kyle Lowry yet again for Saturday's tilt against the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the six-time All-Star appears set to return for Sunday, putting an end to what is likely going to be a six-game absence.

Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports that while Lowry has been declared out for Saturday, the Raptors expect him to return to action on Sunday against the New York Knicks:

This is a great development for the Raptors, who have been missing their star point guard for a handful of games now. Lowry has been dealing with a lingering infection on his right foot, but thankfully, he appears to have already recovered from the injury.

It is worth noting, however, that Lowry suiting up for Toronto on Sunday is not yet guaranteed. Then again, it was coach Nick Nurse himself who indicated that Lowry could return to action vs. the Knicks, so barring an unforeseen setback, Lowry's time on the shelf should end at six missed games.

The Raptors could sure use their star back, with the team losing three out of their last five contests sans Lowry. He's been a key cog for Toronto this season, and the fact that the team decided to keep him on board beyond the trade deadline is an indication of how they want to move forward with Lowry at the helm. This is for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, at least. What happens beyond this campaign is anybody's guess at this point.
