Magic Johnson, basketball Hall of Famer and one of the greatest Los Angeles Lakers of all time, has been in the news quite often recently due to his ignominious departure from his beloved former team as president.
Along with a cavalcade of quotes regarding his former partner in basketball operations, general manager Rob Pelinka, Magic opted to surprisingly resign from the Lakers organization due, in part, because he wanted to go back to tweeting his thoughts and feelings about the game he loves. In his words, he “wanted to go back to being Magic.”
With a thrilling NBA Finals taking place over the past two weeks, Johnson has had plenty of ammunition to fire off tweets at a rollicking pace, all of which pretty much sum up – literally – what is happening or has happened in games. His most recent tweet offers a reason why the Raptors are up three games to one on the defending-champion Golden State Warriors.

In this case, you can’t fault Magic’s logic. Certainly, this Raptors team might have the best defense that the Warriors have ever squared off against in this unprecedented run of five consecutive NBA Finals appearances.
Furthermore, Kawhi Leonard, dominant throughout the playoffs, has certainly continued staking his claim as the best player in the world – dismissing all the naysaying and scoffing regarding his “load management” throughout the season. Just look at the results and realize that all that rest has the Raps on the precipice of an NBA championship.
