The Toronto Raptors know very well what they need to achieve to consider the 2018-19 season a success, and head coach Nick Nurse believes they can do it.

In a one-on-one interview with Josh Lewenberg of The Sports Network, Nurse shared that almost everyone expects them to come out of the East and make it to the NBA Finals this year. And he agreed with those sentiments, even citing that anything less than a trip to the finals would be disappointing.

“Yeah, for sure,” Nurse said when asked if it would be considered a disappointment if they don't make the Finals.

“I think our team is capable. That's what I've got out of bed with everyday, thinking about. And we have the opportunity to do it.”

The Raptors finished second in the Eastern Conference and in the whole NBA with a 58-24 record, only behind the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks who were the only team to reach 60 wins this year.

Toronto also boasts arguably one of the top-five players in the NBA in Kawhi Leonard, making their NBA Finals aspirations more than just a pipe dream.

However, Nick Nurse and Co. knows that getting out of the East is a job easier said than done, with the likes of Milwaukee, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers posing a threat.

The Raptors face the gritty Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs, and they first have to take care of that before looking at the top.
