Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard are no longer teammates, but the Toronto Raptors swingman still intends to work out with the two-time Finals MVP this summer.

Leonard signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency, ending his one-year run with the Raptors. Powell says he's really happy for Leonard and is going to train with The Claw in San Diego.

How can anyone on the Raptors be upset with Kawhi Leonard? The three-time All-Star delivered Toronto its first-ever NBA championship. When Leonard requested a trade from the San Antonio Spurs, he wanted to go to Los Angeles. The fact that he remained professional all season with the Raptors, didn't pout and won the title speaks volumes of Leonard's character.

The Raptors have to be happy Norman Powell is going to train with Leonard this offseason. Now that Kawhi is gone, Toronto is going to need Powell, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet to take the next step in their development as players. It's unclear if the Raptors will keep Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka.

Powell has to be looking forward to next season.

He's going to get more minutes with Leonard gone and has a chance to show his value to the Raptors.
