Toronto Raptors shooting guard Patrick McCaw has been dealing with a sprained left thumb for several weeks, but it sounds like he could be cleared to play in Friday night's Game 3 matchup against the Orlando Magic.

Blake Murphy of The Athletic shared McCaw's status update on Wednesday morning, noting that he is expected to be available:

McCaw was able to take part in portions of Sunday's practice session, but that doesn't guarantee that he will be cleared to play in Game 3. Additional updates on his status should be provided in the coming days.

In 26 appearances with the Raptors this season (one start), McCaw racked up averages of 2.6 points on 41.3 percent shooting from the field (32.1 percent from beyond the arc), 1.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist and just under one steal (0.8) in 13.2 minutes per outing.

In late March, the Raptors announced that McCaw would need to wear a splint for three weeks. Head coach Nick Nurse has said that McCaw is close to a return, but the team is likely taking a cautious approach.

In other Raptors injury-related news, power forward OG Anunoby has been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing an emergency appendectomy earlier this month. Norman Powell and Pascal Siakam have seen upticks in their usage rates as a result.

The Raptors and Magic will meet for Game 3 on Friday night. Tip-off inside the Amway Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage. Currently, the series is tied, 1-1.
