Video: Dwane Casey yells ‘f— you’ to Hawks coaches after game

Things got quite testy on Friday night during the closing seconds of the Toronto Raptors’ 111-98 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Raptors head coach Dwane Casey was seen yelling a barrage of f-bombs in the direction of Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer’s bench.

Raptors rookie forward stole a pass from Hawks guard Isaiah Taylor and threw down a dunk on the other end. The Hawks coaching staff reacted by talking to Anunoby in a way that Casey was clearly unhappy about. According to a tweet tonight from Lori Ewing of The Canadian Press, Casey opened up about the exchange after the game.

“I’m going to stick up for my guys every time,” coach Casey said.

Also in a tweet from Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic, Casey said that there was no ill intent to run up the score on Anunoby’s dunk. Casey was also complimentary of coach Budenholzer and said that his outburst was a heat of the moment thing.

When asked about that play, Anunoby said that he was simply just playing to the whistle and didn’t mean any disrespect towards the Hawks.

The win at Air Canada Centre on Friday night snapped a two-game losing streak for the Raptors. Their next game will be on New Year’s Day when they host Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
