As observed, the turn of events started when Lowry was called for an offensive foul in what looks like a possible no-call.
His frustration carried over to the next possession. Though we can’t hear what he was saying to the referees, the commentator observed that Lowry was talking and complaining a bit too much for a preseason game. As a result, Lowry got two consecutive technical fouls and was ejected.
Lowry has joined Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as the only ones who have been ejected in this year’s preseason exhibition games. As usual, the cause for Kerr’s ejection was just like Lowry’s: too much complaining to the referees.
Perhaps they just want to let the referees know what’s in store for the regular season. All that these competitive individuals want is consistency and accuracy. The referees, on the other hand, are willing to listen to their complaints but at the end of the day, they want to be left alone to do their job.
