The Baltimore Ravens were able to defeat the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 by a wide margin. As a result, Baltimore has clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC for the first time in franchise history per Jeff Zrebiec.
The Ravens have been an NFL franchise since 1996 and have had plenty of successful years. Of course, the best season for the organization came in 2000 when the team went 12-4 and was able to secure the first Super Bowl in team history.
With a win over the Browns on Sunday, Baltimore has improved their record to 13-2 on the season. The Ravens are amid an 11-game winning streak and will be able to rest their players in Week 17 if they choose to do so.
It was a slow start for the Ravens on Sunday as they had zero points with less than two minutes remaining in the second quarter. But in the blink of an eye, Baltimore was able to take a 14-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.
There's no doubt that the Ravens have had a special season with Lamar Jackson leading the way. The second-year quarterback finished the game versus the Browns with 341 total yards and three touchdowns.
Above all, the playoffs in the AFC will have to go through Baltimore now. The Ravens are currently 6-1 at M&T Bank Stadium heading into the final week of the season.
Following the game on Sunday, Baltimore will undoubtedly shift their focus to Mark Ingram's late-game injury. Luckily for the Ravens, they will have a bye week in the first round of the playoffs if he needs time to recover.
