Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Marshal Yanda is not a man of many words. During Sunday's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, something must have set the soft-spoken lineman off.
While it's unclear exactly what is going on, it appears while Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was on the ground, Yanda seemed to have spit on or near him. Burfict has never been one to play the game in a clean manner, in fact, he's been just the opposite over the years. The Bengals linebacker has had multiple suspensions and fines as recent as this season. His style of play is extremely frowned upon and often downright dangerous in regards to player safety.
The Ravens offensive lineman may have seen something that wasn't spotted or something he heard that spectators can't hear. Chances are Burfict was up to his old tricks, but spitting on another person is frowned upon, to say the least.
It's not exactly clear what happened, however, it looks like Yanda did, in fact, spit on or near Burfict. It would be a bit shocking considering Yanda has never had the spotlight on him for any reason other than being a hard working and great offensive lineman.
The Bengals defense is scrappy and during rivalry games, it becomes even worse for opposing offensive players. The game was physical like past games between the two AFC North teams, however more proof of what happened in the video may need to surface before any kind of punishments are enforced.
