Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema couldn't help but smile after hearing Lionel Messi's endorsement for the Ballon d'Or award.

Just recently, Messi shared his belief that there are “no doubts” Benzema deserves to win the Ballon d'Or after his performance for his Spanish club in 2021-22. Not only was he pivotal in their La Liga victory, but he also played a major role in gaining Champions League glory.

Overall, Benzema scored 27 goals and made 12 assists in La Liga, while he found the back of the net 15 times in the European stage.

“I think there are no doubts, it’s very clear that Benzema had a spectacular year and ended up with the Champions League…I think there are no doubts this year,” Messi said of the Real Madrid forward.

Now while he is on international duty with France, Karim Benzema finally got the chance to respond to Lionel Messi's massive support. The 34-year-old talisman admitted that it's a huge thing coming from the Paris Saint-Germain star who has won a record seven Ballon d'Or awards throughout his career.

“I heard the words from Messi and they made me very happy, very content that they come from a player like him. They give me motivation to do more things,” Benzema said, per SportBible.

Benzema has clearly separated himself from the rest of the Ballon d'Or contenders, and it won't be a surprise if he lifts the trophy come October.
