Real Madrid is coming off a tremendous season where they managed to win LaLiga and the Champions League, beating Liverpool in the showpiece. Now, they've also locked up one of their most important players for the foreseeable future.

Per Fabrizio Romano, Vinicius Junior has put pen to paper on an extension that will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2026.

While the amount he'll get paid at Real Madrid isn't specified, Romano notes that Vinicius will be one of the highest earners at the club, and for good reason. The Brazilian formed a lethal partnership with Karim Benzema in 2021-22, scoring 17 goals and tallying 10 assists in league play. He also made his presence felt in Europe, scoring four times and laying on another six while netting Los Blancos' lone goal in the final versus Liverpool.

Benzema and Vinicius Junior are easily one of the most productive strike duos in world football right now and they've shown no signs of slowing down. Although the Frenchman is nearing his mid 30's, Vinicius is just 21 years old, which means his best days are surely ahead of him.

Also, Real Madrid has slapped a bonkers $1 billion release clause on the youngster. Needless to say, he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. He's already at arguably the biggest club on the globe, anyway. It will be interesting to see just how much of an impact Vinicius can make later this year at the World Cup in Qatar with Brazil, who heads in as one of the top favorites to win the most popular sporting competition in the world.
