Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale went viral on social media after a video surfaced of him destroying items in a runway after a rough rehab outing for the Worcester Red Sox. Sale was furious after issuing five walks, including one with the bases loaded, which forced his early exit from the game at Polar Park. Sale then proceeded to demolish everything in sight, stomping off with the wreckage left behind him.

Ahead of the Red Sox game against the New York Yankees on Thursday, Sale was asked if it was bad for that to be caught on video. The Red Sox southpaw responded angrily, via Chris Cotillo of Masslive.com.

Chris Sale said that it's “their problem for videoing it.” The Red Sox ace went on to say that if he “was at a Bank of America, that wouldn't fly.” Sale has a point in that people don't go around videotaping the actions of others 24/7.

However, people also don't go around committing property damage either- which they certainly wouldn't do at a Bank of America.

Ultimately, Sale lost his temper. He's a competitor, which is something Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom spoke about, even comparing Sale to David Ortiz.

Sale shouldn't have completely lost it the way he did. It's not a good look. But Boston also isn't going to try to make him into someone he's not.

Chris Sale is an intense dude. It's part of what has made him a seven-time All-Star in the big leagues. However, he knows- and the Red Sox know- that his intensity sometimes needs to be reined in a bit.

Don't expect Chris Sale to be destroying clubhouses again anytime soon. But don't expect him to change either.
