There's another “addition” to the Washington Redskins that people might not be thinking about as much. Brandon Scherff has been with the team since 2015, so it's easy not to see him as an addition. However, last season he appeared in just eight games due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Now, according to Kyle Stackpole of Redskins.com, he expects to be ready for training camp.

Brandon Scherff is one of the best guards in the entire NFL. He made the NFL All-Rookie team in 2015. He followed that up with consecutive Pro Bowl appearances in 2016 and 2017. Many could argue that an All-Pro selection should've been given to him as well.

Without him, the Redskins' offensive line gets significantly worse. With him, however, they're rather formidable. Trent Williams is an absolute stud and you don't have to worry about people underestimating him. Players like Morgan Moses are very good, but look that much better when Scherff is next to them.

The Iowa product has a fantastic combination of speed, power and agility. He can bully anyone in the trenches, creating holes for running backs and keeping the quarterback protected. His speed allows him to get in front of plays and execute fantastic lead blocks as well.

No matter what, it would be amazing for Washington to get him back for camp. When considering his job will be to protect their franchise running back in Derrius Guice and their new franchise quarterback in Dwayne Haskins, things get ramped up more.

The Washington Redskins will be focusing heavily on keeping those assets protected. What better way to do that with another franchise star asset in Brandon Scherff.
