Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer has been arrested on multiple charges in Colorado, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Latimer was booked on charges of second degree assault, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

The Redskins signed Latimer in free agency back in March.

Latimer spent the last couple of years with the New York Giants. In 2018, he played in just six games due to a hamstring injury, logging 11 catches for 190 yards and a touchdown. Then, this past season, Latimer enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career, appearing in 15 contests and catching 27 passes for 300 yards and a pair of scores.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Indiana University, was originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round (56th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He participated in eight during his rookie year, tallying just two catches for 23 yards.

Overall, Latimer's four-year stint with the Broncos was largely unproductive. He amassed a grand total of 16 catches over his first three seasons before snaring 19 balls for 287 yards and a couple of touchdowns in 2017.

Washington signed Latimer to address its rather shaky depth at wide out, which was a rather prominent issue during the club's miserable 3-13 campaign in 2019.

The Redskins have been one of the least successful franchises in the league over the better part of the last three decades, as they have made just five postseason appearances since 1993 and have won only two playoff games throughout that span.
