The Washington Redskins have been part of one of the most interesting situations this offseason. That situation is between them and superstar left tackle Trent Williams.
Unhappy with the team, Williams has been holding out. He missed training camp and never reported to the team for the preseason.
Now he's set to miss week 1 of the regular season as well. However, it might all come to an end soon. At least, that's according to DeAngelo Hall.
#BREAKING: @DeAngeloHall23 tells @ErinHawksworth on 'Hail to the Podcast' that Trent Williams could return to the Redskins 'sooner rather than later.'

It's important to note two things.
While you could argue this is speculation, it was Hall that broke the news that Williams would definitely be sitting out Week 1. He has an obvious relationship with the team and Williams (having played with them for years), so it's not like he's just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks. If anything, Hall is probably one of the most connected media sources as he's so close to the players.
The second thing is, this isn't simply Hall reporting it. Ian Rapoport tweeted the link as well and weighed in.
Some great insight here. From what I hear, “sooner rather than later” could even mean next week. A long nightmare of a summer for the #Redskins and their star LT could be coming to a close. https://t.co/lexjGkr8Ck

So that's two pretty major news sources saying that the situation could be coming to an end soon.
This is obviously major news for the Redskins. Having Williams back would solidify their offensive line and make them a very strong unit. It would also bring up the Dwayne Haskins argument again. With a solid line to protect him, could the team consider starting him at some point?
That's now what you should focus on now though as there are too many variables in that situation. Right now, it's all about Williams. It appears things are at least moving in the right direction if the superstar returning seems to be on the horizon.
Hall has proven himself to be a reliable source in recent weeks, so even though fans of the Redskins should still be wary, they should be getting excited as well.
