The relationship between Trent Williams and the Washington Redskins seems to be completely severed. Despite his current status with the team, Williams wants to play in 2020 and has Super Bowl aspirations per Dan Graziano of ESPN.
Williams told me he wants to play again next year: "It's what I do. I want to continue my Pro Bowl streak. I want to win a Super Bowl. I’ve got a lot of stuff I want to accomplish. I hate that I got derailed, but I’m blessed and I’m back. Looking for that helmet that can fit."

Back in July, Williams began a holdout from the Redskins during training camp. Unlike most holdouts, his had nothing to do with his contract. It was discovered that the veteran left tackle was remaining away from the team due to a dispute with Washington's medical staff.
Williams had developed a cancerous tumor on his head and had to get it surgically removed during the offseason. Apparently, the medical staff mishandled it after it was first discovered on his head nearly six years ago.
On the day of the NFL's trade deadline on October 29th, there were rumors that the Redskins could choose to trade Williams. Instead, the seven-time Pro Bowler ended his holdout and returned to the team's facility.
Sadly, Williams failed his physical after experiencing some discomfort when putting a helmet on. Following that, information began to come out that pertained to what happened between Williams and the Redskins. Most recently, the Redskins have refused to pay the remaining $5.1 million on his contract.
With the information coming out, it's safe to say that Williams' tenure in the nation's capital is coming to an abrupt halt. The 31-year-old left tackle is in the final year of his contract and is focused on returning in 2020.
There will undoubtedly be plenty of teams who express interest in Williams in free agency. But only a select few will be able to provide Williams a chance to win his first Super Bowl.
