The Washington Redskins selected Trey Quinn with the final pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Despite being “Mr. Irrelevant,” everyone surrounding the team was very excited about him.

Sadly, Quinn didn't get to showcase much in his rookie year, as injuries kept him off the field most of the time.

Still, in a short sample size, he was pretty impressive. Quinn appeared in three games, but got real time in two of those. In those two games, he was targeted 10 times, catching nine of them for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Quinn immediately showed a lot of potential at the slot, but didn't get much time to expand on that.

Now the Redskins are in a position where receivers are a need. The old slot receiver (Jamison Crowder) is gone, and the team leader in receptions last season was Jordan Reed with 54. Josh Doctson led all receivers with 44.

Despite that, the Washington staff doesn't seem too worried. Quinn is definitely a big part of that.

According to JP Finlay of NBCSports, Trey Quinn generated a lot of interest at minicamp.

Head coach Jay Gruden stated that Quinn has taken over the inside slot position, while veteran quarterback Case Keenum said the receiver will be special.

Those two guys have been around the NFL for a few years. They know talent when they see it. It's easy to brush Quinn off as the final pick of a draft and being overhyped by the fan base.

However, it's only easy to do that when you haven't seen him play – or heard what everyone around him is saying. Don't be surprised if Trey Quinn is the best wide receiver on the Washington Redskins in 2019.
